8) a cranach nude, where all that covers her is a diaphonous draping, and two thick gold chains, matched with the one i saw in berkley last year, where the woman was wearing nothing but a giant fur stole, that started with her genitals and moved past both shoulders, cranach's celebration of the erotic, and the sly critiques of previous painters, who kept trying to convince us that a white sheet over the important bits kept both the subjects and the viewers deceny in check--cranach's nudes remind me of titans venus and the olympia, in how they look straight at us, that the models know why they are there.
9) a big, juicy noland, in its own room. with varriations of yellow (ochre, butter); pink (hot, fuschia), purple (lavendar, mauve) and blue (cornflower powder), in alternating stripes, to suggest a logical conclusion

14 A big Glenn Gould Show, including original scores, collections of his petula clark records, two of his pianos, a lot of new media work, and videos at the musuem of civ--the videos of him in studio, kvethcing and joking with engineers, sort of reminded me of Stritch at the Sondhiem reheaserls for Company, with the same me against the world collectively, and they sort of blew away the thesis of crank/lone genius that haunts him, there were also some minor discussions, hints and accusations of his queerness, but nothing explicit, which was a little disappointing.
