mark lewis makes films of lasting beauty, but not much depth. because his aesthetic so closely matches mine, and because his sites of interaction are mine, esp. w/i the GTA, I think I give him more of a pass then a non t oronto film maker, that said he understands film--the erotic potential of rear projection, the gaps and black screens made automatically, the tilting, the panning...it becomes an act of mourning film, the moving of super 8 or 35 to dvd a hyper self aware damage.
