Gertude Goldschmidt was born in Hamburg , moved to Caracas sometime in her adult life . She went by the name GeGo , was in 6 of the Sao Paulo biennels . She made art from at least 1925 to at least 1975 , working in installation, works on paper , paintings and sculpture.


I have looked thru 26 books on contempary art , the web and perodicals i can only find a paragraph in an Edward Lucie Smith book , Two reviews of the Whitney Latin American Group Show two years ago (one in art forum, one in world art review ) and the Harvard Gazette Website .


Why do i care , because they are amazing . The installations are made out of aluminum and are like a martin painting crossed with a fern , they grow organically till they choke the place . Fucking amazing . She may be the next Louis Bourgeosis .
