what appears to be the focus at first glance isnt he has constructed a triple line delineated entirely by colour, and not only one colour, but a dozen subtle tonal varitions of orange, red and yellow--it has a statataco ryhtym going on...(Line one: a diagonal from the Church Roof, Snow route Sign, golden Arches, Hot Bird,and ending at the flags. line two horizontal, the scumble of signs, flags, and the like at the bottom 1/5 of the picture, ending at the flags. third line, the red nets and tenement on the far left--ending at the flags--the flags move out of the picture frame, so the focus of the entire work, both in terms of line, and also that they are red and yellow...and that they drag the eye out of the edge of the frame. what could have been so chaotic ends up being a tennous but well cosntructed anti cacaphony.
