and i hadnt seen this guy in months and i wrote some poetry about him
that was submitted to some queer or erotic journals
so we talked for half an hour and then he offered me a ride to class

I met a man today who convinced me my life was wrong. He is 23 and has a plan, one filled with career goals and personal goals. hHe eats well and at the right time, he does not smoke or drink or do drugs. He runs 10 km a week and works from sun up to sun down. He does not take vacations.


I do not have a plan. I have no defined goals. I eat like shit and have been told by doctors that i will die before the age of 50 with out a radical change to my diet. I eat after 2, I drink like a fish, i smoke dope twice a week. I work from 8 am to 3 am, with a nap in between. I take long vacations. I feel weak and with out discpline, like i live my life for pleasure and not for the work.

A found poem

csi had lesbian rage killers tonight. i was going to turn it off , sick of queers as the new exotics (cf basic instinct, silence of the lambs, et. al) but i love how cold and methodical vincent d'onfrio is, like a sherlock who has read dashil hammitt, so i kept it on.

People working in a community gardens, or small townhouses who grow vegetables and need
tools can take them out like books or videos.

This is such a great idea.

at the cjsr gig.

today i took a drive to elk island, the national park.
i had a picnic on the shores of ahtoni lake, and watched pelicans fly towards the farm fields.
there were cow moose eating young aspen shoots, bison in their paddock.

i wanted to write something about this, how wonderful it was to see nature, and so close to home. so close to the oil refrinies and irrigation ditches, its artifical-constructed- a "park" where fishers wolves and bears cannot be introduced and fires cannot be burnt because we have had the worst drought since 1933. roads all thru it, and paths and benches and camp grounds and signs- and the sloughs thick with algae and the grass growing over creek beds.

there was 5 m b/w the edge of the lake now and the edge of the lake two years ago, and we could see this thru the thick glass windows of our big blue car.

im sad for it all

that is a fisher, a rare and rather close to extinction mustelid. He eates beavers.

glenys came in from victoria, we met at the uni- went and saw the new gate way offices, took the train to met my folx, had a picnic at elk island, wandered arround, went to the interpertive centre, talked to hottie mike(or was it matt) the interperter who answered questions about moose ( we saw a moose cow eating aspen, i found out that antlers are living and in spetember when the velevt falls off they bleed-the antlers fall off in november dead), ecosystems,porcupines,mule deer,beaver predators (mostly coyotes), drought( the driest it has been since 1933- canola is mustard instead of canary, wheat is still green et. al), wandered arround fort sask filling her in on chemical spills and corpratwe bribery, then showed her the london pics. got home an hour ago.

i had lunch with my classics class (burgers and gin)
i had a long editors meeting about edmonton modernism
editors of i sat on the cool grass of the leg grounds and read while watching menflesh
and then i had a great art history class
