everything warhol thot about: immedaicy, the machine, fame, craft, talent, merit, sex, artifice, persona, gender, god came out in these photos, they are all him--even if he pointed and shot, even if he didnt really compose, their accidental grace...its something more then that, its taking this new kind of tech and changing the way people used it, its wht he did with film, making it go to its logical extremes until it broke and then looped back around.

(some times literally, but also the cinematic conventions, the star system for one (candy as marylin, marylin as madonna) or narrative (there were none, there was lots) or source materials or boredom/ennui (popular among the uropenans) or voyuerism or the gaze or the viewer or genre versus art (the only two places you could see tits, and often shown in the same theaters)
