spin this by bill press, fun low key, takes both sides, hates clinton and bush, read it all before--not as good as any of ten or twelve books ive read on similar subjects.

dave thomsons big book on hollywood--i wish i ahd taken notes on this, but it is a weird overly literal anaysis of scandal (it wasnt because clarke ahted fags that he quit gone with the wind, it was that he wasnt big enough to cary it) , good on the history of fiances (sometimes too good--there are a dozen charts of box office, return , etc) a little too much of a love in for the hollywood system (but makes the arguement that movies were better when directors were in charge as opposed to actors--which actually is too auterish for me to feel comfortable; maybe the arguement could be made that when movies were created by groups of people they were better then when they were created by one ego--be it speilberg or kidman--he uses kidman, kidman is the wrong example, because she makes both well--roberts would be better.) i think this is bullshit, but im not sure why---because the movies i tend to like dont have a strong autuer energy (sirk maybe the exception)

monday meeting with aish, but if i do that then i am stuck forever in albeta, and well it will take up to 6 months to get what i need wrt cpp, and emergency has worn itself out.
