scene by scene visual comparasions of the movie and the comic sin city--which actually makes me a bit nervous--as film is an interpertive medium and requires a different sort of context then the source material, but w. the connections b/w image and words comix are the closeset to film, and rodifuez has a brilliant visceral visual sense.

icp is giving larry clarke a mid career r etrospective, and i cannot help but think though he makes amazzing, complicated, taboo shattering and erotically resonant fotos, he has led to the boring, isnt in naughty, explotive and arrogant fotos of people like richardson...and he is really quite dishonest and manipulitive.

(placing him w/i a context there is a thot related to gednis and clarke--in that i see in the fotos of gednis normal things being done--fixing a car for one--in the fotos of larry clarke i find abnormal things desperatly normalized.

(placing him in another context--is there a difference between phil mcgraw saying all these 14 year olds have sex, they call it hooking up, there are braclets even and larry clarke directing the virgin sturgeon, there is a biographical and moralist explotation--and law and order svu/katie couric/etc all say the same thing.)
