the will munro peice was profoundly, deeply, intensely, lovely and moving--i worried that him dying made it critic proof, but the contution of making his own work about the singnals and reconsructions of our icongraphy was (i dont have the wd for it--impt, generous, renewing, tender)--i keep thinking about the theatre/aesthetics of ritualised violence, what it meant to fetishise and tame the chonthic impulse that results from the intersections of sexuality and death, and his commenting on that, noting it, making it significant, making it decorative, but not castrating or reclothing it---the chains and the leather, and the mustaches,and the mirrors, it could have been a back room, it was not made more hygenic, sweeter, by its presence in an upper room (and upper room, can i put jesus here, or would that be too far)...

that the craft of it, and the careful placement, and the recontextualizing, some profound fairy magic, some deep hooligan tenderness there.
