the rest are literal, oonmanepia meant to indicate the allegiance to the comics, and to make the texts merge, but later, it becomes allusive, illusionary, touche to the villian, to batman himself, and intertextually the viewer (him)self--i say him b/c i imagine them mostly done by women...

i think that we need to quit looking at fine art precedents for pop, b/c they come late to the game, the things painted first were street culture, bodies, movies, television screens, advertising, that what was so radical abouat pop work...
