• some of the more explicit theatrical stagings of cowboys and indians, including indians in full war bonnets, (and the indians are always caucasion, though there are latino, african american, and pacific islander subjects in these texts) are done by bruce of la, or other la area pohotographer,s which makes you wonder if this is a shadow culture of LA (cf introductury essay about tourists who did not get access to the men of venice beach, while mizer did, was about his understanding of how the culture of image works--so is bruce/la's success one of intertextuality?
