about the merritt peice:

i'm working on another draft (i have made really elaborate notes, fleshing out an outline, just quotes and what i want to say, and random lists, and bullet points, and odd exegesis, and all sorts of other things... its going really well, i have no idea how it will g ell, but i just want to send them the notes, like this helen cixous piece i read on manet and jesus, or her book stigmata, but its more raw then that, so i know they will say what the fuck, so im going to have to batter it into submission...the weird thing is that the piece that isn't battered is fucking alive (not the piece you've seen, but this monster no one has seen yet) (its not like bangs and thompson is really quite polished, i'm proud of it, but what do you do...)
