i had to eat: winter salad, with mesculun, avocado, grapefruit, dressed in walnut oil (a little bland), a v. good lamb shank with esclado(sp), a cheese plate (a cheddar from normandy, a bendectine blue from quebec, and two others), and a chocloate pot with four mandelines.
i had to drink: 1/3 bottle of argentine malbec from 2006, a cocktail made of pear, quince and midiori, and blueberry grappa.

excellent meal, excellent company.
