Kosher and Halal meat called to be banned by the Farm Animal Welfare Council
I remember Temple Grandin writing about how she was shocked that kosher butchers seemed more cruel, but then realizing that really it wasnt, the manufacture of meat requires killing of animals, and through that killing suffering.
Reducing suffering by both mainstream and religous butchers is nessecary, but banning this practice seems anti semetic and anti islam at best (realzing that a large portion of muslims are semites)
