Are they meant to commerate the nature of disaster--as memorials in themselves ?
Are they meant to mock the nature of public memorial, esp. in realtion to franklin memorial style kitsch ?
Are the Craftsmen like nature of the work aesthicsizing works of violence, losing its power ?
What are the implications of the lack of people ?
there have been public pilgrmeges to these places, and often after 9/11 the wtc site was on the tourist trail, there were shirts and postcards being sold as souvienars, is this the hightheoryhighclass equivlent.
