1) Sherman's prices seem to be in two categories (film stills=stratsopheric, everything else=not so stratsoprhic)
2) koons easy fun sieres is selling about as well as his vacuums, but not as well as his silver peices, and people like donkies more than walruses
3) jo baer cant sell, even at low 5 figures, this kind of makes me sad.
4) for basically what accounts to graphite on paper, martins drawings of grids from the late 60s radically change, i cant tell the difference b/w the one here sold for 110 an the one sold earlier for 800k or so
5) there gets to be a time, where the work drawings of conceptual sculptors become as valuable as the sculptures themselves, tehy become legitimatized as art, it happened to judd in the late 80s and it is happening ot Whiteread right now.
6) i like serras oil stick drawings much better than his sculptures and them selling for for a 1/4m or so, each, other people agree w. me
7) on kawara seems to epehermal and conceptual to be worth the prices people are paying for them, a drawing a day for the last 40 years means aprox 14 600 works, how the hell is one of them worth 600k?
8) baldeeassi will break 1m/image next season, i bet.

10) the sherman equation might be more bout how much tit shes showing, and less about the film still nto film still thing.

12) less of the yale crowd that broke in the 90s, only one dana schutz, a handful of currins and yuskavages, for example, and they seem to be worth less then they were last season.
13) you should have bought and sold essenhigh 3 years ago, her prices have halved or worse, so have cottons.
14) god is there huge swaths of bad painting sold for cheap enough that it doesnt matter what sells or not (ie 10-50k), bread and butter of these auctions, pages of medicority.
15) same 6 chinese artists, going for huge prices, including Zhang Xiaogang for mid to high 6 figures. i dont get him.
16) buying a sugimoto theater or ocean, is a lot like buying a bmw, cold, formal, neoclassical, kind of boring, well constructed, about the same price point, regardless of the image.
