I love the colours, the slightly blurred edges, and the intensity of certain tones that Polaroid cameras provide. The cool tones in these photos are ones that the camera and film lavishes attention on. The beige and brown of snow, the green of weeds choking a water pipe, the unique teal of northen British Columbian lakes, ferns and grass against tile or stucco. I wanted to amplify the nature of the medium, to show these colours off as best as I can. The prints intergral white frame is twinned by the wooden shadowbox. Putting a number of these shadow boxes on the white walls of the axis cafe will provide a kind of third frame, all of that white collapsing into colour.
