this is what i have found so far, long and big list, some of these are just picture books, nothing really on cities, surrealism, illustration, beauty, or contempary trends, nothing on victorian and neo victorian fairies, etc... (robert rosenblum 1900), you will want to read kant, or at least pretend to, they will be expecting it. some of these are just pictorial sources, balthus and klossoviski (sp) for example

i cannot deal with bryan and i's off again on again interactions.
i cannot deal with the fights.

it apparently is mostly, if not all my fault.

everyday in the library i read the newspapers, the sun and the star and the national pest, and i read about sexual abuse that a teacher inflicted on students at UCC, upper canada college, Canadas Andover, but more british--upper canada and the bna, forever intertwined, a snake eating its own tail.

and this teacher, 20 years ago, would come in the night, to the cubicles where certain boys slept, and he would touch there genitals, maybe a couple of times, no more then 6, once he tried oral congress but it didnt really work.

paul shepered did this to me, when i was doing my own stint at an exclusive boys boarding school (i can name his name now) the dorms for grades 7 and 8 were open form, with no privacy, so he took me to the duty masters room--where he slept when he was over at the school, where he spanked students who failed at a milllion things (i got spanked 50some times in the first year when i was there, and i got spanked three times the second year--he wasnt there when i was in grade 8)

he spanked me in the same place as he molested me, not at the same time though, and he taught me math w. the same gentle directness as he taught me to touch myself.

the problem with blatchford, who is brilliant and who is writing the best narrative possible in the globe and mail, is that it is a narrative, with the same villians and victims. there is still a scar, a trench in my head due to trauma because he raped me...and blatchford talks about grooming, about this fake personae of love that overtakes a man who fucks a boy.

i want to tell her its more compliated then that, more ambigous. i think that shepered loved me and wanted the best for me. i think that a 14 year old can consent to sex (i fucked lots of boys at st johns, from 14 to 19--the 19 year old was the most abusive, the most damaging, the most destructive)

i want to tell her that for a week or two before the first incident, i masterbated to boys for the first time, away from church and mother, i began to envision myself as queer, and sometimes it wasnt even men who i thot about...it was shepered. i loved him, i loved him as a father, as a mentor, and i wanted to love him as a lover. i wanted him to fuck me. and then he did (he was too gentle to fuck me, how do i phrase this--i wanted hard and rough and quick and dirty).

i am strangely loyal i am glad that he taught me about math and god and love and devotion and the complexity of new places. i am supposed to angry, wanting revenge, wanting to destroy him, i am supposed to go to lawyers and judges and cops and hope that he will be brought in chains, that he will end up in stoney mountain and be raped and murdered.

how am i supposedto feel these things, hang into blatchfords normative narrative when everytime i think of him i get a hard on.

(i know the damage he has done, i will give you the damage he has done, the anon. and destructive sex in parks, bathhouses, backrooms, theaters and peepshows; the having realtionships fall apart because i couldnt stand to be touched, the failing to be properly intimate and joyful, my fear and distrust of men, my fear and distrust of my own body and desires, my panic attacks, my depression, my terror, my sadness. he has destroyed me. i didnt consent. a 14 year old can not consent to a 40 year old, its not done.)

conserative xians must love me, single mother who i was too attached too, distant father, sexual abuse, boarding school, initial sex as queer, etc etc...i fit the standard mangled freudianisms of exodus, and the abuse i think ties into my interenalised homophobia--but then who doesnt have internalised homophobia...i cant answer if i grew up queer, if i was born queer, where sex comes from is a swamp where nothing emerges clean and continous.

i dont think that paul made me gay.
i dont know what to do about the hard ons, the loyalty and affection i feel layered among the hate.

st anthony's and st patricks have candles w. push button lights.
no fire and smoke from earth to heaven, no slow, smoldering destruction.

two books on the boil right now, poems and jesus. (my life...)
moms in the hospital and there is a boy on the horizon, a boy who is talented and joyus and might just like me sexually. (the two are unrelated.

should have gone to the artbarn today, drank orgina and vodka instead (we call it the popes breakfast) talked to rachel, bryan m wrote me and he thot my peice was really strong, and they will end up using it.

no art today, and not much reading, just sort of sleepy walkly meaningless day.

sorry these are so dash and run, weeks of shit in bits and bites

marks mom had a stroke, light a candle, say a prayer, do what you do for her...her memory loss, the ambiguity and complexity of a human mind betraying itself--scary shit, and closer to home than i would like to admit.

bryan is backseat typing.

serra is doing collage and cliche, sort of a disneyfied heartfield for the nation wrt to shrub, disapointing, there needs to be an article about serras obsession w. massive form, his interferring in public space, his solidity and his implied violence, i think hes closer to bush then he gives credit... (thinking of these things, b/c the article i parsed the new info from was subtitled serras politics)

ilx fap good, maybe agent, maybe book deal, american jesus (and w. good news comes bad, asshole driver took away my ttc pass for useless reasons, ray is playing white knight, which i kinda need but kinda pisses me off, indepependence vs dependence and all that jazz--esp. money, money too, keep in debt to people, because im broke and the bank is fucked (transfers slower then two snails fucking, account frozen, still not giving me over draft)

write later about qsw, bryan and portland, the uncles, finish the future serra peice, talk about american cincma 19-- to 1968 irt kael and trash

Question]: Are there any plans to expand the registered traveler program to
non-frequent flyers?
Secretary Ridge: ... At some point in time, once that
first decision is made as to whether we expand it, and it's expanded, I would
think it would be very appropriate to expand it to include those men, women,
families who don't travel as frequently.... We think the registered traveler
program with frequent flyers is a good place to start, but that could also be a
prequel. That could be the first step of enlarging it to not only other frequent
travelers beyond the pilots, but potentially down the road, the citizens that
even travel casually.

also reading this weeks new yorker last night and today, the big profile on gore, and how personally he took the lewinsky matter, he didnt seem to know and from what i have been able to gather wrt hilary, she didnt know about t he lewinsky matter either. (ie the gregraious lubrgious discussions that clinton gave us were a way to hide, wives in those circles know about mistresses, there is a great story told about jackie, thanking marylin for taking jack off her hands, like a brattish child, and sometimes hardings wife had dinner w. hardings mistress, there is something new and something strange about the mistress not being "public" at least amongst a cotterie of friends and family.

some shows i want to see in toronto

Mark Lambert at AGO, its all about who controls the world, but in overly detailed diagrams, with love. LOVE! (and also hate) Sept. 8th 6 to 8 pm
James Gardner cute little drawing type things of interglatic robots, sort of poppy, really indie--at AWOL on 76 Ossington, this is the date of the FAP, but at 7 pm--dont know the city that well, is this doable ?
Lindy Fyfe-- if Gyson and Richter drank Cava and ate tapas in june in a barcelona antiler, while discussing the nature of lingustic abstraction, this would be fyfe, but sweeter, with cooler (as in hip) colours. thats on the 9th, 774 queen street west.

some things i think
library system good (spent a long few hours at the TRL, reading ron silliman, chris p--explain ?)
hot and humid, drinking two to four liters of fluid a day
i think i have a crush on queen victoria as sculpted on the leg.
riding trains and buses, queens street west, etc
always tired, sleeping b/w 9 and 12 hours a night
yorkdale is the prettiest station so far
keep coming back to yonge near gerard, my place ?
beaches is too calm and quiet.
like email from martin, miss aim, would like to talk to people more.
god shaped whole returns
sometimes im lonely

the trip im from the airport (explain vahalla executives, please)the provincal leg (we have nicer grounds, you have a nicer building)the rom (which pissed me off mostly, except for the bizarre and handsome 17th century memento mori, and a really nice chardin that was framed in a really bad frame--bad for it and bad in general, euan mcdonald and luis jacob were also not too bad)some of church's church's (i think one of the reasons, maybe the reason why i am so attached to the efficent and cold modernism of 50s architechture, was b/c the best buildings in edmonton are efficent and cold modernists--the churchs i have seen here, they are opulent, highly decorated, over the top, et al, that i became drunk and had to sober up in order to fall in love w. for example the subway stops, the city hall or that glass wall, reflective goregous monster across from the park)some of bloor the zanzibar and the buidings next to it

im happy though
and the dwarves in my head are moving from sonatas for perpared piano to 4/33

(rachel, d's friend is super cool too, glad to know her)
