Today i have reached the nadir, i used to listen to clever music, music that was complex and bizarre and interesting and had many many layers . Slowly those layers stripped away, i moved from Tender Pervert to Folktronica, John Cage to Plain Song, Johnny Cash to Applichian Ballads. It was along time coming, but it seems all i care about now is stark voices and borderline boring ararngemetns. Where did my love of complexity go ? Why am i obsessed with simplicity all of a sudden ? Its not only music , in art i have been looking at waterhouse, in poetry i have started liking frost and finding pound unpleasent, In photos i have picked up the victorians and in funirture regency . Its like i have slipped from the avant garde to the back ranks, like all i seem to care about anymore is simple things for simple people . Am i making progess ?
