This peice i think is why i loved him so much--it was funny, and sweet, and did not really do the top/bottom work that is expected in a lot of dance, but it is also really smart--how do are bodies move, how do they move in space, how do they move with other bodies, how do dancers intervene with space, how do they intervene with each other, how do we experiment to seek answers, not one answer, but many possible answers...he died this week, but that he coregraphed and danced from the 40s to the 80s, and never quite settled these issues, means something to me.
