1. 50 out of 61 lots sold for more than a million, 9 for over 10m, highest, 35m for Untilted (Blue Yellow and Orange from 55, Rothko), a signifiant amount sold for more than their estimates, with only A late 70s Richter Abstraction, two Calder wire sculpture, a Judd stacking object, an early quite muted Ryman, going unsold.
   
2. Two Warhol works went under estimate, including an iconic teal liz, but the low estimate was 25 and it went for 23, so don't feel too bad (Warhol had 10 lots sold, from the early 60s to the late 80s, totally 64, 214, 700)
3. Yoshimito Nara's prices keep rising to rather absurd rates
   
4. Piney Woods Nurse, one of the most contempary of the works in question, was high estimated at 2.2, and went for over 6.
   
5. Chinese Contemparary is still doing v. well
   
6. Lucien FReud's masterful IB and her Husband, from 1992, fully clothed, but even more intimate then some of his beefy nudes, broke 19m
7. Two De Koonings from his drunken, sloppy, (pre?) alzhemiers 70s, before the 80s reinnsance, went for 7, and 19.
8. Koons Diamond Blue went for 11m, which means that the almost bankruptcy, selling his gallery to sothebys that DEitch had to do to pay for hte fucking thing actually proved to be a wise investment (i think the more complicated, and more visually sophisticated Fait D'Hiver, from 1988, was a better work, and undervalued) (plus it has two penguins)
   
9. did MArtin go blind in the last years of her life, because loving life, from 2000, which sold here, and her last show at Pace/Wildenstien, have much less subtlty and wavering energy
10. Only one untilted film still, only one johns
11. 7 On Kawara's for 2,930,000 is insane
12. People have gotten over the whole, cant sell eva hesse because her work is too brittle and will collapse in on itself, by creating a market for obviously secondary graphite work
13. i keep seeingthese 70s de Koonings and 90s Browns next to each other, and i think, is brown ripping off De Kooning, because if she is, shes much better at it then he is
