i think that he is the best poet writing in england right now, but that might be because we share an interest in theology and mysticism. his works are gnarled, historical, and prone to word usage that is both exact and rare. he is also a profound believer in traditonal forms, tweaked--this becomes an intertextual series of interventions--into the bible, into blake, and into spencer/auden. best on the short poems mysticism and democracy, which is in many ways, is about the effects of transparency, and dajavascript:void(0)rk lines, a poem dedicated to WEsley, which has some amazing words, that fit together with an elegance and a encumbered tenacity. (20) (its a prayer in prase of the wesleys, because they made england less boring)

about his affair with his shrink, more deseperate then sexy, and with the inclusion of texts about the affair, to make us know that he is not lying, the obsession with versmillitude, with the containment and construction of clinical selves, becomes almost foccualdian, would have been mawkishly sentimental and piteous, if it was not for the camp wit, the alluded to, but never stated details, and his talent for the perfect descriptive sentence, (19)
