bhangra, two step, dancehall-love it all, all this shit influenced by hip hop, but not hip hop

i dont like hip hop, can deal with ashanti but not j rule-wonder why, is it my love of texture, maybe i should try to listen to hip hop w/o hearing the words.

thats like hearing robert johnson singing hell hound on my tail and not realizing the immensity of the actual pain. he called it devoicing black people.

am i a tourist when it comes to bhangra, can i deal with two step cause im an anglophile ?

how do i get into hip hops words ?
(hip hop is praised as a verbal genre, another similarty to country, what happens when i ignore the words ?)
