david orr talks in the new poetry about the diction of disgust and the syntax of offense, a structual argument in how we determine our feelings irt people like pound, larkin and sexton--and also why larkin is a much better poet, a much more likable poet then people give him credit for...

alot of it is old hat (what more can be said about larkins racism, his misogyny, his banal taste for lesbian school girls) but by concentrating on effect of acual langauge on audience, it might be worth something.

also sexton apparently sexually abused her child, anyone know anything more about this?
