The problem with these lists is that it is an excercise in laugh at these dumb hicks, with out realizing how self refential and often campy the intentions are--country music is deeply lyrical and it uses word play in ways that are much more ambigous and playful then most people recognize--alice randall, african american academic, parodist and country song writer called it the closest thing she has found to the caroline poets, and i would have a tendency to agree with her.
