note: there, in this auction, is a 40m Gaugin, and an 80m Klimt--i dont get the klimt love, and though its a nice Gaugin, all of his tahiti paintings seem fairly similar, and the ones without the tits seem to be worth less, be less interestnig, then the oens with...all of the sexual and ethnograpic politics aside, Gaugin is one of the best painters of tits ever. i also know that i am choosing studies, prints, drawings, manquettes, etc and that minor work pumps up the total of works bought--i am less and less tempted to buy what is considered major or cannonical work, or at least the major/cannonical work i am tempted by, is still on the edge of instutional affordiblity. i am going to do this once again, at the end of november, and see if i can curtail it to a tenth.
