sounds i'm enjoying lately

the steamy whistle/shrieking from the water coming thru my houses ancient pipes when i'm drawing a bath

the crackle/shatter of ice and snow under neath my big boots, that comes now because of the ice storm on saturday .

the bass heavy clunk clunk shank shank shake that my dryer makes when drying a load of jeans

the contraction of trolley lines, and the buzzing of power stations when i take the number nine bus downtown

how my roomies late 70s firebird growls and screams, racing thru the quiet streets, claiming ownership

the click tock tick that the 70s era ibm selectric clock marks time with, when i am aimlessly waiting for a class to be done.

how the sound echos in forward backwards up and then down waves, in the old power plant that serves as a student pub in uni.

the feline purr that accompanies most vowels, when my prof from latin american lit in translation is talking.

the almost obscene squlech, swish, thump that occurs when walking across lino or brick with my new boots.

kazoos
