going thru the recent aqustions of the vag, i noticed that they were given/bought a large chunk of Phillip Lorca diCorcia, a conceptual photographer that looks and speaks more like a documentary one.
interesting article here on how to sort out what photoing is about, and how lorca helps and hinders those discourses (good hindering)

it also made me think of the eag, and their problem with acquistions, the vag has limited their acquistions to three fields, conceptual work, photography and work geographically centered to their location, so they have bougfht a world class collection, allowing other instutions to  deal with other kinds of work...
